The Heathens judged time, be it their year or their week, very differently from us today. But through contact with the influence of the Roman Empire this changed, when through this contact they took on the twelve month year and the seven day week. But histoical literature shows us that the Anglo-Saxons still clung onto much of their own culture of  judging time.
